This tip is for somewhat advanced users. It requires the use of regedit and shoul;d be used with care. If you’re not comfortable with Regedit please refer to this article.

Now for the Regedit. Open RegEdit. Start->Run->Regedit. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs and just select the URL you’d like to delete. Then hit the Delete key. Once you delete the URL that you no longer want, you must right click on the name (url# where # is a consecutive number) and rename those that have been misplaced consecutively to url#. The list must go from top to bottom url1, url2, url3, url4, url5, url6, url7, url8, url9…. If you deleted the URL associated with url7 then you must rename url8 to url7 and url9 to url8. I think you get the idea. If you have many URL’s and you deleted one near the top or middle of the list, this method can become quite tedious. Fret not, there is another way.
