Looking for a recliner that sports a laptop table

I’ve been wanting a recliner for a while now. The other day I decided I would look for one with a laptop stand built into it. A quick Google search turns up something from the WebTV era. Which is sad. There should have been advances in the field of mouse potatoes (I have never heard that term before) by now. I couldn’t find anything else that even came close to what I was looking for. Just a bunch of different variations of these stands that work on the bed, couch, and arm chair. So I search for lay-z-boy Explorer since that was the name of that particular model. Then I found this. Too funny! Very perplexing. Looks legit, including the logo link in the upper left. I have to admit. I thought it was real until I looked at the address bar. Very clever. If anyone is aware of a recliner for the home that also offers a built-in sturdy laptop stand please add a comment.

I was looking or recliners with a laptop stand via Google and found your entry. Specifically, I was looking for a cheaper offering than what a friend of mine found a couple years ago, but so far, I have had no luck. What my friend found was a recliner from a company called Ekornes which have a “personal table” attachment that she uses as a laptop table. It works very, very well for her. They have a “swing table” also that works as a mouse pad/table, and both can be fit to the same recliner. Details of those two tables can be found at http://www.ekornes.com/us/stressless/tables_accessories/recliner_accessories/ along with information on the recliners themselves. Sadly, they are well out of my personal price range.

Mike, thanks for taking the time to read the post and share your experiences. I’ll def check out the products you recommended. I too can’t afford a lot, and I haven’t found “the chair” as of yet, but I’ll keep looking and again thanks for stopping by.

Ha! Here I am, on Google, searching for a recliner with a laptop slab that will store in the armrest, and I find your page! Nearly ten months, and no one has found or made a recliner with a fold out table in the armrest for laptops. That’s just unbelievable. My friends have a sectional sofa with all kind of nifty gadgets built in, with options for a cooler / refrigerator–but no one makes a soft, comfortable reclining chair you can surf with your laptop in. Just doesn’t make sense…someone is missing a huge market opportunity, I think.

I agree Robert. The recliner of years ago has all sorts of compartments for remotes, magazines, cup holder. I’ve even seen ones with phones built right into the flip up arm rest. Seems odd that finding a recliner with a builtin laptop try is so hard to find.

I’m going to try and initiate some conversation with a furniture manufacturer and see what they say.

I own a wonderful teak and leather recliner that has a swing-away laptop desk. It was pricey, but I bought it from a local furniture store on 12-months/no interest. And it’s been worth it. It’s a Ekorne Chelsea Chair and Otto with Ekorne Computer/Personal Table (the table is teak laminate).

Same here. I can’t believe that no one makes a easy chair/recliner with a built in laptop table. All the rolling tables assume that you have a raised chair so the legs will fit under and that is not always the case.

Check out Bobs Stores. Its called Totally Bobs, has a built in tray with light that stores in the side arm and reclines electronically. Also has insane massage and heat. 599 but I found it in the pit for 299.
